Sieben Jahre Random Poison

Heute ist es soweit … heute jährt sich mein Hallo Welt zum siebten Mal … Mensch, wie die Zeit vergeht …

Nach anfänglichen Startschwierigkeiten, wage ich zu behaupten, dass ich mittlerweile das Bloggen ganz gut im Griff habe. Ich gehöre zwar zu denen, die keine großen Grafiken verwenden, aber ich schaffe es immerhin einmal im Monat einen Beitrag zu veröffentlichen (in all den Jahren habe ich nur den August 2012 ausfallen lassen).

Außerdem ist nicht nur dieser Beitrag mein Jubiläumsbeitrag, er ist auch mein 600er. Also in dem Sinne gibt es heute eine Doppel-Party (und da dachte ich erst, ich schaff das nicht …).

Aber werfen wir mal einen Blick zurück …

In den vergangenen Jahren habe ich mich in verschiedene Richtungen ausprobiert. Reisen, Festivals, Konzerte, Serien/Filme, Bücher, Comics, aber auch Sachen wie Lost in Translation und den Weekend Guess. Zu allen Themen habe ich noch jede Menge zu erzählen, aber an der Umsetzung scheitert es gelegentlich …

Wobei das Hauptproblem leider ist, dass ich zwar viel schreibe, aber nur wenig Rückmeldung bekomme.

Mal ein paar Zahlen …

Leider haben nur vier Leute Fragen gefunden, die sie mir stellen wollten, aber dafür einige gleich mehrere und bei ein paar bin selbst ich auf meine Antwort gespannt. 😀

June Is: Mit was spielen Eskimo-Kinder?

Hmmm …. Pinguinen? 😀
Ach, Moment, die sind ja am anderen Ende der Erde … hmm … die Sendung mit der Maus hat mir glaube mal erzählt, die spielen auch mit Eisbärkindern …
Abgesehen davon, dass sie viel öfter Figuren aus Schnee bauen können als wir, spielen die vermutlich mit ähnlichen Dingen, wie auch wir es früher getan haben.
Wer hofft eigentlich noch, dass der Winter nicht erst wieder zur LBM einbricht?

Sophie Grossalber: Hast du schon mal deine Plotbunnies nach Mitternacht gefüttert und sind sie dann zu Plotgremlins geworden? Oder wurden sie eher zahmer?

Guute Frage … hmm … da ich es grundsätzlich vermeide, Plotbunnies zu füttern – außer sie werden gerade gebraucht – kann ich das gar nicht so sagen. Auch wenn es durchaus Plotbunnies gab, die sich durch (düstere/merkwürdige) Träume mir erst vorgestellt haben … also … hmm … muss ich mal im Auge behalten und wir können dann Erfahrungsberichte austauschen!

Kia Kahawa vom Buchessemble: Wenn ein Blitz ins Maisfeld einschlägt, gibt es dann Popcorn?

Meine These: Kommt drauf an wo. Wenn der Blitz direkt den Maiskolben trifft, könnte ich mir durchaus vorstellen, dass – wenn der Maiskolben nicht direkt verkohlt – es zumindest ein paar Körner schaffen würden zu Popcorn zu werden. Trifft er allerdings den Boden, dann wird das vermutlich nichts … 🙁

Warum nenne ich meine Waschmaschine ständig „Mikrowelle“?

Vermutlich aus dem gleichen Grund warum ich zum Bus immer Zug sage/sagen wollte … oder war das umgekehrt?

FunFact: Ich hatte als Kind – und gelegentlich habe ich das auch immer noch – das Problem, dass ich anstatt Kirche immer Kirsche gesagt habe … da sind wir dann sonntags halt mal in die Kirsche gegangen … ^^°

Warum kommt die Latte im Tetris immer zu früh oder gar nicht?

Weil Tetris eines der wundervollsten und fiesesten Spiele überhaupt ist …

Kennt ihr eigentlich schon den Tetris-Bot auf Twitter? Den hat die fürchterbar fiesliche Kirana neulich geteilt und seit dem muss ich da gelegentlich immer mal mitspielen …

Zumindest bis ich mich dann wieder dem Reallife Tetris für die LBM widmen kann.

… Äh, ich meine, wann kommt nochmal eine Nerdwoche o.ä.? Ist etwas in der Art in Planung?

Ja und nein.
Ja: Ich möchte definitiv wieder so etwas machen.
Nein: Ich hab nur keine Ahnung zu welchem Thema … beim letzten Mal hatte ich gerade angefangen Gotham nebenbei zu gucken und musste mal wieder feststellen, dass ich die Bösewichte in Geschichten sehr oft wesentlich besser finde als die Helden. Daher kam die Überlegung auf, eine Villain-Week zu machen. Passend zu den Superheldinnen müsste/sollte/könnte es allerdings um weibliche Bösewichte gehen, was aber schon fast daran scheitert, Gute zu finden … wobei hier eine Mischung wohl auch nicht schlecht wäre …

Dann kommt hinzu, dass es demnächst auch den Essayband Roll-Inclusive zu Diversität in Pen&Paper-Rollenpielen gibt, der eine ganz andere Thematik einbringen würde, die wir vom Nornennetz – inklusive mir *Panik* – auch auf der LBM besprechen wollen. Das wäre für eine Nerdwoche im Mai allerdings zu spät …

Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn: Es sind Ideen da, aber allzu konkret ist nichts. Erstmal wieder den Märchensommer in die Gänge kriegen, da ist auch einiges zu tun noch … (Wenn wer helfen mag, gerne schon mal melden!)

Anne Granert: Was befindet sich auf deinem Nachttisch und in deinen Anorak-Taschen?

Nachttisch: Viel zu viel Krempel 😀 Darunter verstecken sich aber auch Bücher, die ich noch lesen muss (inklusive der beiden Anthologien, in denen ich vertreten bin), der Dragonball, den ich immer noch nicht weggeräumt habe, Kleingeld und jede Menge anderes Zeug. 😀

Jackentasche: Momentan nur meine fingerlosen Handschuhe (ich mag es nicht, wenn irgendetwas meinen Tastsinn einschränkt …), wenn ich sie trage auch meine Hände in den Handschuhen und mein Telefon mit Pokémon Go. 😀
Gestern waren da zwei Ohrenstöpsel mit drin, um unsere Ohren vor potentiellen Glockenläuten zu schützen, als wir die Konzertkirche in Neubrandenburg hochgekraxelt sind.

Welches phantastische Element in einem Roman hat dich positiv umgehauen?

Puh … immer diese schweren Fragen … ich mag es, wenn die phantastischen Elemente, Magiesysteme etc. gut durchdacht sind und in sich schlüssig. Sie müssen nicht den physikalischen Regeln entsprechen, sollten sich aber zumindest nicht widersprechen.

Deine Talente in „Des Sandes Wiederhall“ klingen interessant, auch wenn du noch nicht so viel über ihre Entstehung erzählt hast. Den Umgang mit Superkräften in „Karriere: Superheldin“ fand ich faszinierend – auch wenn die Charaktere und die Handlung meh waren … Das Rumpelstilzchen aus „Kindsräuber“ hat auch seinen ganz eigenen Charme …

Doch was mich wirklich umgehauen hat, dass kann ich gar nicht sagen …

Welche Romanverfilmung fandest du gut und welche ging gar nicht?

Legende von … aach ne, das war ja ein Cartoon und kein Roman … hmm … ich bevorzuge es ja, Verfilmungen erst zu sehen, nachdem ich das Buch gelesen haben. Manchmal klappt das nicht, da konnten z.B. Tintenherz und Der Sternwanderer mich überzeugen. Mit Blick auf die Bücher sind sie zwar nicht perfekt, aber sie erschaffen trotzdem eine ähnlich großartige Stimmung.

Und nu?

Nun, nun widme ich mich wieder meiner ToDo-Liste und ihr bekommt dann demnächst zu hören, was für den Märchensommer geplant ist, wo ihr mich wann auf der LBM findet und was sonst noch so ansteht.

Es bleibt spannend

Bloggeburtstagsvorbereitung

Wie ich neulich feststellte, jährt sich in diesem Jahr am 19.02. der erste Beitrag, den ich je auf „diesem“* Blog geschrieben habe zum siebten Mal!

Seit sieben Jahren blogge ich also schon und das heißt, es wird

gefeiert!

Dafür habe ich mir Folgendes überlegt:

Von jetzt bis zum 17.02. könnt ihr mir hier in den Kommentaren, über Twitter, Facebook – oder sonstwo, wo wir miteinander verbunden sind – Fragen stellen.
Das kann sein:

Das Beste daran: Die Frage kann sowohl ernst, als auch total unsinnig sein! Denn wer eine Plüsch-Elchtrophäe bei sich an der Wand hängen hat und sich über eine Tetris-Lampe freut (beides Geburtstagsgeschenke), der mag auch unsinnige Fragen. Oder wie man im Englischen sagen würde: „totally random questions“, immerhin sind wir hier ja auf „Random Poison“. 😀

Das ist aber nicht alles: Wer mag, kann mit der Frage auch in den Lostopf hüpfen (bitte entsprechend im Kommentar dazuschreiben), denn für die skurrilste/merkwürdigste/verrückteste (die ich beantworten kann) von ihnen verlose ich ein Buch eurer Wahl mit einer Beteiligung von 7,00 € (ein anderer Betrag wäre im siebten Jahr irgendwie unpassend).

Happy – what exactly are we celebrating?

In the previous years I mostly talked about Halloween, but there is something else that Evangelic or Lutheran Christians (and variations thereof) celebrate today:

Reformation Day.

The day when Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the gates of the church in Wittenberg or send them in a letter to Archbishop of Mainz, depending on the version.
This year marks a special occasion, hence the digression from the usual Halloween stuff: It’s the 500th anniversary of this event and all over the country it’s been celebrated as Lutherjahr (Lutheryear) all year long, especially in Wittenberg (where he lived and worked), Eisleben (where he was born and died) and Eisenach (where he translated the bible). For this occasion all German Federal States get a public holiday today and not just the Evangelic ones (which also means that the Catholic ones have two holidays this years as for them All Saint’s Day – „Allerheiligen“ is a public holiday as well…).
There are many things potraying the unusal life of Martin Luther, books, movies, graphic novels, museums of course and even  a musical…but that doesn’t change the fact that what he wrote in those theses caused the way religion was used/viewed to change drastically. All those things Catholic priests used to suppress the uneducated people were no longer usable as everyone now understood what was wrong with the system and could later read what actually stood in the bible. I’d really recommend to read up on the whole thing and if you’re nearby, do check out the museums in Wittenberg and Eisenach, they’re pretty good and should be up to modern standards thanks to all the renovations that went on before this years celebration.

What’s Luther to me?

Well, I’m Evangelic, which means everything the belief system I grew up with contains is based on Luthers interpretation and translation. It feels like through this break with the old traditions that Evangelic people are more open minded, which doesn’t mean all Catholics are close minded, but those strict ones are still quite conservative, you can’t deny that…
In my Journey through Germany in 2014 – a part I still owe you – I visited Wittenberg and wandered through the museums I mentioned above. It gave you a different view on the stuff you learn in school and general media. It shows you that Luther wasn’t the driving force behind the Reformation, he was just the pebble that set everything in motion, even if he didn’t want the split itself.
In 2015 my cousin got married on the Wartburg, the castle in Eisenach where Luther translated the bible. The day after the ceremony my Dad and I explored it. We had planned to come here for years, but only managed it then, without Mum. It’s quite an impressive castle that still holds on to lots of history. Not just the bible translation, but also the Sängerkrieg took place here – which I recently read about in an interesting (but slightly flawed) novelization by Robert Löhr(, that I also picked up during our visit back then).

Luther and the Devil

As it’s Halloween I can’t leave you without telling something spooky:
It is said that when he translated the bible Luther was visited by the Devil, who wanted him to stop. To cast him out Luther threw his ink glass at him, but it missed him and shattered on the wall. This stained was said to have stayed there for quite some time.
Though by now it doesn’t exist anymore as „visitors“ took away part of the wall when they came to the Wartburg to see it…(and it’s said to have been artificially prolonged by the GDR regime 😉 )

Other Halloween stuff

Yesterday a guest post of mine was published on the Nornennetz-Blog, it’s a mixture of one of my earlier Halloween posts in German, combined with knowledge I gained from Ed Mooney’s and Ali Isaac’s posts about it.
Tonight one of my old stories from „Your Picture – A Story“ will be re-released through the Nornennetz Halloween-Event as well. Though I didn’t edit the English version accordingly, yet…

Either way, stay safe in this spirit filled night!

Three Years

Today marks the third anniversary of my Blog.
Another year has passed and I’m still blogging.
It was a really good year, until it got quite awful towards the end and any improvement will probably take a while.
But that’s beside the point.
Today I’ll announce the winner of my little raffle a few weeks back in honour of my 200th post and this anniversary as well.

As a reminder the prices were as follows:

#3: A Clue Writing Story written from your clues (setting + five clues)
#2: A Story written from a title you chose or for a picture you took.
#1: A Story of whichever category you like (e.g. clues, title, picture, even a Fanfic would be alright)
And without further ado let’s skip to the good part:

The Drawing

For quite a while I had only two participants DarkFairy and Gabriele.
The third participant commented earlier this day and was lucky to write before I finished this post.
Yet, as that one only left me with an „XXX“ as name and an E-Mail address that looks fake am I not able to include her/him in the drawing. (Though I do have a suspicion of who might be behind that alias…)
Therefore the race is between Fairy and Gabriele and is concluded by the throw of a dice.
If the dice lands on an even number: Gabriele wins the first place.
If the dice lands on an uneven number: Fairy wins the first place.
As I don’t have a physical dice here – at least I can’t think of a place where I put one – I will use this side: Virtual Dice.
So, let’s role….

As for you „XXX“, if you’re participation wasn’t just a ruse, I will grant you the third place and for the next time, please use real contact data – at least for the duration of the competition, afterwards it can be changed to fake data.

Two Hundredth Post-Raffle

Welcome to my two hundredth post on this Blog!

It hasn’t even been a year since I managed the One Hundred and now I’m already at two.
For a while now I’ve contemplated what I should do for this occasion and with some personal stuff going on, I nearly decided to do nothing and/or wait for the third anniversary of my Blog instead.
But as the latter is fast approaching as well and I don’t want my negativity to ruin this, I have decided to make a little raffle, instead of another On the Road So Far that I just had.
As you all know does a raffle usually include some prices.
Though, as I don’t feel like picking up random stuff from around the flat to send away into the world, I thought up something different.
From my explorations with the Advent Calendar last year and the new project over at DF.PP Entertainment, I do believe you know the character of the prices, but let’s have a look at them anyway:

Two Years…

Today it’s been two years since I announced my „Hello World“ on this Blog.
And as always: I nearly forgot about this in the first place…
I knew it was sometime towards the end of February and today I just remembered that I wanted to look it up.
According to the „Trophy“ I got last year from WordPress the anniversary is on the 21st, but the first post was published today, so that is the proper day…and I just got this years trophy to prove my point.
Anyway.
Two years aren’t really a big milestone to pass (not like the ones I mentioned in this post), but if you are as easily sidetracked as me, than it is something to accomplish…
I mean, I started this Blog to write stuff down and have a side to collect all my writings and in these two years a lot of things have happened that could have caused me to stop working on this.
You can see that by the amount of stuff I have posted within this two years, as I mentioned before: I merely managed to write about 50 posts in two years…
Apart from the fact that I need to be in a writing mood, I think the biggest problem is, that I don’t like short posts. They just feel weird. If I really have a topic I can easily fill about a thousand words, but if I just have a short thing to say and the post is shorter than that, it is kind of strange. Though I don’t think this post will be that long either…

But what have I accomplished in these two years and what do I plan to do now?

Hmm…I’m not sure about either…
I kind of finished studying (though I haven’t gotten my final mark yet)…
I kind of started to write a bit more regularly (at least once a week)…
I kind of visited a few places and managed to write about or still have to write about it…
The how, in the schedule and stuff however still is a mystery to me…
But I’ll think up something…I guess…
And now I’m already at a loss of what else to write about concerning this anniversary…
Guess I’ll just end with a bit more than four hundred words for a change and hope I will continue with this Blog a bit longer, as it is a nice companion down the road of life.
