Randnotiz #8: Von der Absurdität des Lebens

Erinnert ihr euch noch daran, dass ich das vergangene Jahr schon überwältigend fand?

Das neue Jahr geht schon genauso weiter. Angebote, die sich zu Terminen verfestigen, Verbindungen, die durch simple Gespräche entstanden und alles komplett überwältigend.

Aktuell finde ich mein Leben sehr absurd.

Auf Social Media habe ich keine Reichweite, aber hier in der Gegend steht mein Debütroman „Das Jahr des Mondes“ in drei Buchhandlungen (Hugendubel Neubrandenburg und Greifswald, sowie Rats- und Unibuchhandlung Greifswald) und einer Bibliothek (Regionalbibliothek Neubrandenburg).

Über diese Kontakte wurde ich angefragt an drei Kulturveranstaltungen im Verlauf des Jahres mit einer Lesung teilzunehmen (Details später) und habe auch ein paar spannende Werbemöglichkeiten in Aussicht gestellt bekommen.

Zusätzlich dazu koordiniere ich gerade zwei Interviews/Berichte, die über mich/das Buch erscheinen sollen.

Und dabei wird es vermutlich nicht bleiben …

Hinzukommt, dass dir als Selfpublisher sehr früh gesagt wird, dass du dich darauf einstellen sollst, dass du mehr E-Books verkaufst als Prints. Nur knapp 8% meiner bisherigen Verkäufe sind E-Books. Was vermutlich an der Zusammenarbeit mit den Buchhandlungen liegt und sich auch mit dem Fakt deckt, dass mir jegliche Werbung durch Bloggende fehlt. Die meisten Leute in der BuchBubble haben vermutlich noch nicht einmal von meinem Roman gehört.

Das ist so ein absurder Kontrast, dass ich gar nicht hinterherkomme alles zu verarbeiten, geschweige denn Pause machen kann, um das Momentum nicht zu verlieren.

Neue Kontakte knüpfen, Mut sammeln für Anfragen und „einfach“ machen … und immer wieder davon überrascht werden, wenn Leute mich bereits von irgendwoher kennen oder ich ihnen schon mal begegnet bin auf einer der unzähligen Veranstaltungen an denen ich im vergangenen Jahr teilgenommen habe …

Das alles hat mich bis hierher gebracht, mal schauen, wie weit ich damit komme …

Randnotiz #7: #ThrowbackThursday?

Wie ihr mitbekommen habt, „feierte“ mein Blog im Februar das 10-Jährige bestehen und ich wollte es noch ein wenig verlängern indem ich euch über das Jahr hinweg auf Twitter beim #ThrowbackThursday (Hashtag zum Teilen von Dingen, die in der Vergangenheit stattgefunden haben) alte Beiträge vorstelle.

Bis Anfang des Monats hat das auch geklappt, dann ist es in Urlaubsvorbereitungen und dem tatsächlichen Urlaub untergegangen … läuft!

Doch warum fällt es mir so schwer diese Dinge vorzubereiten/zu teilen?

Technisch

Twitter hat mittlerweile eine Vorplanen-Funktion, diese allerdings ist bei Fäden daran gekoppelt, dass der Beitrag auf den geantwortet wird, bereits existiert. D.h. so lange ich es im gleichen Faden (Link s.o.) schreibe, kann ich das immer nur wöchentlich vorplanen.

Abgesehen davon, dass ich beim Vorplanen ggf. getaggte Personen aus dem Vor-Tweet nicht rausnehmen kann und da auf manuelles Einstellen am Tag selbst umstellen müsste.

Lösung: Ich werde versuchen die Beiträge einzeln vorzuplanen und dann nachträglich in den Faden zu hängen, um sie auch zusammen zu haben.

Inhaltlich

In den zehn Jahren des Blogs habe ich 724 (725 mit diesem) Beiträge veröffentlicht. Ich weiß also zum Teil gar nicht mehr, worüber ich überhaupt geschrieben hab … und dann würde zwar wild irgendwelche Dinge teilen zum Seitentitel passen, aber hin und wieder ist ein bisschen Zusammenhang zu anderen Sachen nicht verkehrt. Reichweite und so …

Hinzu kommt leider, dass viele der alten Beiträge noch ein seltsames Format von vor dem Umzug (wordpress.com zu selbst gehostet) haben und ich das vor dem Teilen anpassen muss, was wiederum wieder Aufwand ist. Gerade arbeite ich mich stumpf durch die Weekend Guesses, da das alleine über 100 sind, dauert das eine Weile …

Lösung: Ich sollte einen Plan machen und mich möglichst daran halten… falls ihr euch an Beiträge erinnert, die ich definitiv teilen sollte, sagt mir gerne Bescheid!

Apropos Dinge vergessen einzustellen …

Kurz nachdem ich den Jubiläumsbeitrag veröffentlicht hatte, fiel mir auf, dass ich euch ja noch dieses Bild zeigen wollte:

Foto eines karrierten Blattes mit Kugelschreiber-Skizze des Blognamens "Random PoiSon". Das erste und zweite o sind dabei Totenköpfe, das letzte hat eine Pupille.

Für eine ganze Weile schwirrte mir die Idee im Kopf rum, den Banner oben auf diese Weise zu gestalten. Die Totenköpfe und das Auge schienen mir passend und cool …

So im Nachhinein betrachtet, bin ich aber ganz froh drum, dass ich es nie in die Tat umgesetzt habe … immerhin würde es so gar nicht zum dem Design passen, was wir uns für die BuchBerlin ausgedacht haben. Hups, Spoiler! Mehr wird an dieser Stelle jetzt nicht verraten!

Übrigens habt ihr mit diesem Blogbeitrag nun die Macht, mich immer und immer und immer ~ wieder daran zu erinnern/damit zu piesacken, dass ich mal was aus dem Archiv hervorholen soll!

Und ich einen weiteren Grund mich tatsächlich an die Aufgabe zu halten …

On a Side Note #6: [Hier aussagekräftigen Titel einfügen]

Wie ihr schon am Titel erkennt, bin ich gerade super kreativ, was Titel angeht. Vermutlich ist mein Hirnschmalz dafür gerade für Überarbeitungen draufgegangen, immerhin habe ich den #Neubrandenwolf (nach nur fast zwei Jahren!) jetzt halbfertig! (Fehlen nur noch Testlesende, Sensitivity Reader, Lektorat, Korrektorat und natürlich die zweite Hälfte des Buches …) Trotzdem wollte ich euch ein paar Updates nicht vorenthalten, denn irgendwie passiert gerade mal wieder alles auf einmal.

Neue Veröffentlichung

Die Anthologie „Tiefen einer Götterseele“ ist erschienen! Im Januar hatte ich euch von meiner darin enthaltenen Geschichte „Eine neue Ära“ erzählt, die ihr nun im Print oder E-Book selbst lesen könnt.

Ich bin schon sehr gespannt wie und ob die Geschichte gefällt.

Ab 27.3. wird es auf Instagram auch eine Blogtour dazu geben, wenn ich die Links erwische teile ich sie mit euch auf Twitter – wenn ihr sie erwischt, dürft ihr sie mir auch gerne zukommen lassen, da ich ja selbst nicht auf der Plattform bin.

Events, Events, Events

Vergangenen Mittwoch habe ich an der 2. Kultur- und Kreativwerkstatt des Frauenbildungsnetzes Mecklenburg-Vorpommern teilgenommen. Es geht in den Veranstaltungen darum, gemeinsam „von der Zielgruppe für die Zielgruppe“ ein Konzept zu entwickeln wie Frauen in der MV-Kulturbranche gefördert werden können. Es begann mit einem Workshop zur Definierung der Stolpersteine und ging diesmal weiter indem wir in vier Gruppen zu zwei „Protagonistinnen“ Prototypen entwickelten. Das nächste Mal geht es um die Testung bzw. Auswertung der Tests mit eben jenen aufgearbeiteten Prototypen. Ob ich da wieder dabei sein werde/kann, weiß ich noch nicht. Es war auf alle Fälle eine interessante Erfahrung andere Kunstschaffende aus meiner Heimat kennenzulernen.

Letztes Wochenende war ich auf dem eduRPG Barcamp des Waldritter e.V. und habe mir verschiedene Sessions angehört. Vor allem zu Themen, die gesellschaftliche Strukturen, Geschichte und Charakterdesign verbanden. Ich konnte ein paar interessante Gedanken mitnehmen und war begeistert vom hohen Niveau in dem die Diskussionen geführt wurden. Aus einem Gedanken daraus, ist auch bereits ein potentieller Gastbeitrag für den Fairy Tale Summer entstanden.

Doch gehen wir von der Vergangenheit in die Zukunft.

Kommenden Samstag, dem 27.3. ab 17 Uhr werde ich beim #Bücherfrühling by 9Lesen nicht nur aus dem #CroMär lesen, sondern mit Nora Bendzko and Katrin Ils über Märchen, Märchenadaptionen und alles was damit einhergeht sprechen. Ich bin schon sehr gespannt darauf. Aus irgendeinem Grund behaupten ja alle, ich sei eine Märchen-Expertin. 😀
Das ganze wird auf dem 9Lesen Twitch-Kanal stattfinden.

Ebenfalls auf Twitch fand und findet das Alea Libris Verlag Schreibbattle statt bei dem ich Anfang des Monats tatsächlich Dennis Frey „besiegen“ konnte und am 17.4. gegen Sophie Grossalber antreten werden. Mal sehen was diesmal aus den vorgegebenen Bildern für eine Geschichte entsteht. Beim letzten Mal war es eine Variation von Hänsel & Gretel. Es ist auf alle Fälle schwierig das Korrigieren für die 15-minütigen Runden abzustellen und vor allem auch keine unzufrieden stellenden Sätze zu löschen. Ich habe irgendwann auch Groß- und Kleinschreibung ignoriert und bei Buchstabendrehern drauf geachtet, das zumindest die Buchstaben oder die Anzahl der Buchstaben des Wortes passten, wenn auch das Wort teils sehr seltsam aussah. Die Taktik hat zumindest funktioniert.

Wie ihr seht steht einiges an und ist passiert … es ist ein schönes Gefühl in dieser stillstehenden Zeit doch ein paar großartige Dinge erleben zu dürfen.

On a Side Note #5: Da war doch was…

Wie ihr sicherlich mitbekommen habt, ist es zur Zeit sehr ruhig hier, daher mal eine Erklärung dazu.

Nach dem Fairy Tale Summer brauchte ich erstmal eine Pause, ~50 Beiträge in 7 Wochen war schon ne ganz schöne Nummer und so richtig bin ich aus dem Sumpf noch nicht wieder raus … hinzukam, dass dadurch einiges liegengeblieben ist, was im Anschluss erstmal aufgeholt werden musste.

„Ein neuer Tag“ kam aus dem Groblektorat zurück, denn die Kurzgeschichte soll Ende des Jahres Teil einer Benefiz-Anthologie werden. Die erste genauere Lektoratsrunde hat sie mittlerweile auch schon hinter sich.

Na wer erkennt alle 17 Märchen auf dem Banner des Märchenhauses Neubrandenburg?

Für das Nornennetz hatte ich mich bereiterklärt, ein paar Blogbeiträge zu verfassen. Einerseits ein Interview-Bericht im Comic-Monat, bei der ich zusammen mit verschiedenen Autor*innen die Frage erörtert habe: Lohnen sich Comic Conventions für Autor*innen?. Und ein Beitrag in Zusammenarbeit mit den Nornen Grumpy Moon and Laura Kier, in dem es um Das Gute an Bösewichten ging – vielleicht erinnert sich ja noch jemand daran, dass ich während/nach meiner Superheldinnen Nerdwoche mit dem Gedanken gespielt habe/spiele, eine Villain-Week zu machen. Ein sehr passender Beitrag für mich also.

Dem Bücherstadt Kurier hatte ich zwei Beiträge für ihren Diversitäts-Monat #kunterbunt zugesagt. Das wurde zum einen ein, hmm, „Rant“ zum Thema Diversität ist mehr als Hautfarbe und sexuelle Orientierung (hier auch auf Englisch) und eine Rezension zur Pilot Folge des Zombie Orpheus Entertainment Projekts Strowlers (hier auch auf Englisch).

Hinzukam, dass ich Anfang August innerhalb eines Tages die Kickstarter Kampagne des Nornenetzes für die Teilnahme an der Leipziger Buchmesse 2019 aufgesetzt und seit dem betreut habe und auch andere Dinge im Netzwerk zu tun hatte.
Für unseren Auftritt auf der BuchBerlin, den ich ebenfalls mitorganisiere, gibt es übrigens momentan Tageskarten zu gewinnen: Wer fährt mit uns zur BuchBerlin?

Nebenbei habe ich dann auch immer mal wieder Elenor Avelle bei ihrer Aktion zu ihrem neusten Werk „Gefesselt – Der Anfang“ geholfen. Für alle, die herausfinden wollen, welcher Charakter sie in der Geschichte wären, geht es hier zum: Storyquiz.

Zwischendrin gab es dann auch schon wieder Planungsphasen für neue Aktionen und u.a. auch Besprechung für meine Patenschaft by Susanne Eiseles Rumpelstilzchen Adaption „Das erste Lied„, für das ich noch ein bisschen was vorbereiten muss, es wird auf alle Fälle eine interessante Release Party am 13.09. und im Oktober dann auch eine Blogtour geben.

Dann war ich bei der Eröffnung des Neubrandenburger Märchenhauses und habe gleich ein bisschen Werbung für die Märchenspinnerei und andere gemacht. Es wird spannend …

Einen Samstag habe ich mir dann auch gegönnt, um mit meinem Vater zusammen – das erste Mal seit es vor 10 Jahren eröffnet wurde – das Ozeaneum Stralsund zu besichtigen und danach seit langem mal wieder hoch zum Königsstuhl auf Rügen zu fahren bzw. durch den Wald dort hinzulaufen. War ganz schön teuer der Spaß, trotzdem ein paar tolle Sachen gesehen.

Eine Aufführung von „Wildes Herz„, dem Dokumentarfilm über den aus meinem Heimatort stammenden Sänger der Ska-Punk Band Feine Sahne Fischfilet, konnte ich mir auch nicht entgehen lassen und vermutlich lasse ich meine Gedanken dazu irgendwann auch mal in einem Beitrag aus …

Das alles (und noch viel mehr) hat dafür gesorgt, dass ich die Märchensommer Preise noch immer nicht abgeschickt habe, was mir furchtbar leid tut für alle, die sehnsüchtig darauf warten. Doch ein bisschen müsst ihr euch noch gedulden. Tut mir Leid …

Denn heute begebe ich mich seit Langem mal wieder auf eine Reise durch Deutschland (und kurz auch zum ersten Mal in die Schweiz), was übernächstes Wochenende auf dem Literaturcamp Hamburg endet.

Das Ganze unter dem Thema #NornenHopping, das bedeutet, dass ich auf meiner Reise u.a diese Nornen treffe: Anne Danck, Holly Miles, June Is, Siiri Saunders, Jule M. Reichert, Stella Delaney, Felicity Green, Eva-Maria Obermann, Elenor Avelle, Laura Kier und Paula Roose, und wer sich noch so auf dem #LitcampHH anfinden wird.

Kleine Anekdote am Rande: Ich werde die ganze Zeit unseren 3x6m Pavillon im Kofferraum haben, weil ich den für das Litcamp angeboten habe … =D

Ein bisschen Kreidefelsen auf Rügen

Danach werde ich mich dann aber wirklich um den Versand kümmern, bevor ich mich in die Arbeit für neue Aktionen und eine weitere potentielle Kurzgeschichten-Veröffentlichung stürze … und den diesjährigen Adventskalender. 😉

Na gut, nachdem die neuen Postkarten angekommen sind und ich das Gespräch mit dem Märchenhaus hatte … Spätestens Ende September sollten aber alle Preise angekommen sein. Versprochen!

On a Side Note #4.1: Re-Scheduled

As I told you last time do I want to try writing with a proper schedule.
Right now that doesn’t really work and I just wanted to tell you about it.
For today I wanted to write a post for ferngeweht’s new Blog-Parade, but I just didn’t get around to finish it.

Why?

Well, because my flat is currently being renovated.
Which means:

  • I had to prepare my flat for the renovation.
  • As a Smartphone-not-user do I not really have access to the Internet outside of my flat.
  • I wont even be staying in my flat while they’re busy renewing the pipes in my kitchen and bathroom.

Additionally, will I also be at an In Extremo warm-up concert tomorrow and next week I’ll be at the Rockharz again.
Oh, and there is the whole thing with the water damage that I now have to deal with, thanks to the pipe that could not wait for tomorrow – there will be a rant later on.
So the plan is, that I’ll finish the Blog-Parade for the 5th July (a bit past the dead line, but Sabine gave me her okay) and the next What’cha Watching Wednesday and Webcomic-chapter will be postponed by a week.
As the 1st July also marks the end of the Story Sunday call for prompts you still have a little time to add yours to EveEstelles, otherwise I’m not sure if I’ll pick up the segment or simply use it for my writings outside of Your Picture – A Story and stuff. (My next YP-AS story will possibly be published on the 17th July with a picture by Selenophile Art)
So yeah, that’s the status right now.
Proper work with the Blog will hopefully be possible starting 18th July at least.

On a Side Note #4: The Schedule

As you might have noticed did I manage to write – lo and behold – one measly post in Mai.
I had planned more than that.
I wanted to finish another What’cha Watching Wednesday, I wanted to continue my travel log from 2014, I wanted to continue the Fanfiction stuff, that’s been waiting since December and many more things.
But I didn’t do any of it.
Instead I went to couple of things, binge watched a couple of series and was basically not in the mood to write anything.
Since I ended The Weekend Guess my motivation to write something regularly dropped immensely (I haven’t even gotten around to add the other question-collections…).
I can’t even figure out what I would like to do on a regular – weekly ? – basis.
It should be something that takes as little time as the guess, but is just as entertaining/interesting.

What to do?

I can’t make a weekly song-suggestion as I partly did that in the first segment of the Guess and DarkFairy is doing a great job at that already.
I don’t really want to answer questions on a weekly basis like the Montagsfrage (Monday Question) or the Gemeinsam Lesen (Reading Together). Both are great opportunities to think about stuff you usually wouldn’t think about, but they’re also difficult as you kind of have to come up with something to stay in the loop.
With the Reading Together there is also the problem that you have to be reading something to be able to properly participate and even if I got a more or less regular reading habit again, this feels forced sometimes, especially as I’m only able to write the post properly in the evening after work.
Besides Monday and Tuesday are days where my motivation to do something useful after work are even worse than usual. But maybe I’ll still restart doing the Reading Together at least, who knows…
I’m currently considering to start a new segment for the weekend, where I talk about the many series I’ve watched (Series Satunday), but that would not fit the bill of an easy weekly post – and I would probably run out of series and motivation quite soon – like I did with the WWW.
Which in turn I thought about trying to do bi-monthly or monthly, depending on how much I watched, as it is quite some work to put down all my thoughts.
I don’t know if anyone would be interested in „Found on the Internet“ post, where I talk about stuff I came across.
I’m not even sure I’d like doing that.
I probably would rather share it through Twitter and Facebook than blog about it.
I’d also like to continue introducing people to Webcomics I’ve read or the language stuff I started way back and I think that might be more interesting than the „random stuff from the Internet“-thing.
There is also a lot of stuff, I still want to talk about that I haven’t gotten around to write about. So it seems like a proper schedule for all the longer stuff is in order.

So, this is the plan

Every second Wednesday there will be a post:
One week a WWW, one week a Webcomic (Webcomic Wednesday, so to speak).
Starting: Next week with a WWW (not sure yet, if I give you the complete one or a split version, of what I currently have)
Every other Monday there will be a post about a Concert or Festival I’ve been at – the Music Monday, even if some will still be called In Concert/At the Festival.
This way I hopefully get on track with my logs about them and maybe even talk about a few interesting long players (again).
Every other Tuesday or Thursday there will be either a post about my travellings – the Travelling T-Day – that’ll cover random stuff from the On the Road category, as well as actual travel logs or a Translation T-Day, covering the Lost in Translation stuff, I still want to talk about.
Maybe I’ll really go for the Series Satunday as well, but I’ll see how the stuff above will turn out before I make a final decision here – though the LiT stuff would fit here as well.
There is also another idea for the weekend that I’ll present you on Sunday (there’ll also be another Your Picture – A Story over at DF.PP Entertainment by the way).
I really hope I can somehow pull this off. It’s so frustrating that I can’t manage to keep up a decent schedule, so I felt it was necessary to give myself a kick in the butt to change this.

On a Side Note #3

I feel like I’m really not getting anything done these days…
I managed to low and behold publish five posts in September and four so far in October and seven of those were Weekend Guesses…
I don’t even know what it is I’m doing that keeps me from finishing any posts…
I didn’t even feel like reading either and now I have to give back all those books I got from the library back in February when it closed for renovations, unread…
Okay, I admit there were a few series I caught up with during the recent weeks and my trip to Stockholm and two Weekends at the HGWAnime, but that can’t be that time consuming…
It feels like all I’m doing is writing in the bus on my way to work, being at work, writing on my way back from work and doing stuff – possibly typing said writing or writing something else or watching something, when I get back.
Now you probably ask yourself: Why am I not seeing any of that writing?
Well, for one: It isn’t December yet. 😉
But I only need six and a half more Chapters and then it’s time for typing and polishing the whole thing to make it presentable for you. I’m quite exited if you will like that way of story telling, though right now I’m more curious about where the story will take me, as it made a few turns I had not expected in the beginning…
And for the other: I haven’t posted it here and I’m not sure I want to post it here and am even thinking about taking down the Fanfiction section in the Writings-menu altogether…
It’s the amok-running story that started with „Chance Meetings“ – a simple idea of Supernatural characters meeting people that read the in-universe books – and for some reason turned into the Season 11 AU „Light in the Darkness“ that I want to finish before I actually take a look at Season 11, which by now leaves me in a very weird situation between „Ah, I can wait“ and „Arg, I hate Spoilers, why can’t I be able to finish that stupid story and finally watch the show again like everyone else?!“. >_<
It is really frustrating when characters decide that they want you to tell more or different things than you actually wanted to do (same with the Calendar people by the way…)… I could probably write a whole post about that alone – and I probably will when I finished that story.
One thing you could see, however, is „Aequus„, my most recent story for Your Picture – A Story, that is a semi-continuation of this story from my Advent Calendar. Again it is only available in German, but I did manage to translate one of my „older“ stories of the project: The Secret of Milton Road. As Halloween is fast approaching, maybe something you’d like to check out. 😉
And as I’m already talking about the Calendar from last year: Last time I also told you that I left an excerpt of it in the mail box of a local publisher. Well, long story short: They were interested, they liked my stories and wanted to read more, but they also wanted me to support them with 2.500 € to pay for the copy-editing, marketing and what not, while they pay the same amount for the printing itself and only give me 10% royalties. That was not something I was willing to do, so I canned publishing plans for the meantime.
Now onto some more fun news: I probably wont be able to write anything this weekend either, as I’ll be at the TimeLash with AnnaTao and Schmusi from the HGWAnime. The TimeLash is the first ever Doctor Who convention in Germany and I’m quite excited as it will be my third convention ever (as a reminder: #1: Weekend of Horrors, #2 ChiSaiiCon). But I’m also quite terrified as I have agreed to take part in the Cosplay competition with Anna and Schmusi…
It will be:

  • my first Day ever in a Cosplay
  • my first time participating in a Cosplay competition
  • my first time playing after a pre-recorded story in front of a (huge) audience (all audiences are huge if you don’t like being in the spotlight, even if they can be at most 500 people…)

So yeah, I’m kind of practising to not miss my cues and do some acting and most importantly not start laughing, which probably will be the hardest part…
Anyway, noon Sunday it’s show time and I guess I’ll let you know how it went. 😀
We’ll by the way play a self-written (by Schmusi, with comments by me) story starring the Tenth Doctor (Schmusi), Rose Tyler (Anna) and Donna Noble (me) and the Tardis Control-Thingy (a cardboard box). 😀

On a Side Note #2

I want to give you a little status update on a few things, so I’m using this category again, as I had anticipated last time.
My pile of stuff to type is getting bigger and bigger by the day and I feel like my brain is busy with so many different ideas that I just don’t know where to start.
As I mentioned in the last What’cha Watching Wednesday did a simple story-idea ran totally amok and I’m barely catching up with it…
Aside from that have I managed to publish a few stories, namely my entry for the Clue Writing Blog Parade and Chapter Eleven of Crossing Over – that were on my to-type-list last time – and a short story for a contest over at Edge of Night.

Either way, I also managed to write two more stories for Your Picture – A Story – again both are in German: Preparations (a continuation of Lukas‘ story from my Advent Calendar) and The Medlar – a Fairy Tale for a change. 😉
During my recent stay with DarkFairy we also managed to edit quite a bit of our book in a few days time, you can read more about it here: Scenes of an Editing Marathon.
Just yesterday I also sent off my Season Summary for Season Three of Supernatural, that might be published one of these days on The Extremis Review.
By now I’m also half way through this years Advent Calendar, but it already looks like my original plan will fail, but I’ll tell you more about that in December. 😉
Other than that am I trying to catch up with my Journey through a bit of Germany-series, as there is still a lot to talk about from last year and some new stuff from this year. I’m also going to expand on the travel logs as I want to include my trip to Ireland from last Halloween, the short trip to Liegé during my mini-Journey and the one to Stockholm I’m about to partake in at the end of the month (24th-26th).
Back in July I participated in another Reading Stage (Lesebühne) and presented some of my stories. Between reading them, someone I’ve been there with commented that I should publish my stuff as it is really good. So now we come to the main reason, why I’m writing this post:
After long contemplation I created an exposé for my Advent Calendar stories, but I wasn’t sure if I should really give it away for quite some time. Then Ed proposed to set a deadline for doing so. That deadline is today, so printed the exposé, put it into an envelope and really put that envelope into the letter box of a local publisher.
I’m still not entirely sure if that was the right thing to do.
Part of me is thrilled at the thought of it being read by professionals, another part is terrified of just that. You know how the saying goes: You’re your own worst critic, so my pessimism is greatly involved in me not believing what I have done and that they won’t like it anyway…
Well, guess we’ll see what will come of this…

P.S. It’s been six months today and we regained some kind of normalcy by now, but it’s still so, so strange. Especially when Dad and I are cooking a meal after two different recipes at the same time or, you know, we’re attending a wedding together, that she would have loved to be part of…I just miss her soo much… 🙁

On a Side Note

As I haven’t really published anything here in these past few weeks, I felt like I should at least write something to explain this lack of content – or maybe even use this headline in the future to just rant about things.
Anyway, the lack of posts isn’t due to lack of ideas, far from it.
I believe, I could fill more than a month with The Wesen of Grimm alone.
Beside that, is my imagination working as well as it hasn’t had in quite some time. I have a rough versions of several stories or story-parts, but there is one minor problem:
I have them handwritten and I’m too lazy to type them…
Well, at least I managed to motivate myself to finish On the Run (German Story) and The Legend of the lost Keys (German story) in time for their release for Your Picture – A Story.

What else have I written?

You see, my mind was busy these past few weeks, but I didn’t get around or felt like typing any of it. Still, I prefer to write things by hand. I can’t really explain why, but I guess I just like crossing out stuff and not being dependant on technology. Back when I was still writing with a fountain pen, I also liked the way it cast its shadow on the paper…
Though, if any of you know an App or Program for a tablet that manages to turn terrible handwriting into computer readable words, I’d be more than happy to hear about it! A program like that would save me a whole lot of time…
As for the What’cha Watching Wednesday: It’s not that I didn’t watch anything either, but I didn’t really know what I should write about the series I’ve seen and apart from them I mostly watched old movies with certain actors and I still haven’t figured out how to include those things…
Either way, I’m not sure how often I will update the site during the next few weeks. On Wednesday I’m off to the Rockharz again with Anice, Black Kat, Babsi and others and two weeks later I’ll be visiting Fairy, Nazgul and maybe Icewolf, as a mini- Journey through a bit of Germany. Fairy and I will also be at the Noch ein Bier Fest (One more beer feast) by Sabaton, which will be a lot of fun…
Wish me luck that I can think up another Weekend Guess in time for my departure, as I already had trouble with the last one.
