Advent Calendar: Door/Türchen #24

Lies auf Deutsch

A Reward at last

After receiving a stern look from the Mage, the Thief accepts the decision, grumbling and the Mage tells everyone how many flowers they should pick.
While he and the Archer each pick three, the others take two. Afterwards you give all your flower to the Archer carefully wraps them into a bundle of cloth to put them into his backpack.
„You have made a wise decision“, the Bear compliments you and silently turns to lead you outside again.
You look at each other in confusion for a moment, but then simply decide to follow the Bear through the tunnels again.
When you finally reach the entrance again the sun is slowly sinking, the world already coloured in hues of red and orange. You thank the Bear and with a grunt he returns into the cave. >ou set off into direction of the town to end the Quest before nightfall. On your way back you reminiscent about the choices you made and how all of them eventually lead you to the flowers.
In the tavern the Healer already awaits you and thanks you for your hard work. He gently takes the flower bundle from you and gives you the payment as promised.
„Only true, noble Adventurers are able to conquer this Quest“, he tells you, carefully running his finger over one of the pedals. „Only those who do not falter can overcome the obstacles and choose the right path.“
He then leaves you with a bow to prepare the potions – and the second part of your payment.
„Noble Adventurers“, the Thief laughs and waves for the tavern maid.
„You certainly are not noble, who knows what would have happened, if we had listened to some of your suggestions“, the Mage scoffs.
„We might have had more fun“, the Warrior complains.
„We might have died“, the Archer disagrees.
„Either way. We have passed all tests, have picked the flowers and received our Gold“, the Mage changes the subject as the tavern maid approaches with the ale.
He lifts up his tankard: “ So let’s drink to a Quest well done „.
„To a Quest well done“, your party echoes and you celebrate your victory.

You have reached the end of this story without getting yourself killed! Well done!
I hope you enjoyed this and had as much fun reading, as I had writing it.
🙂

🙂
